Mandela

Mandela

Katie and Larry at Burbank came up with a very excellent way to read the NEW data set and I tried it today and my students were magic...
They got to choose the headlines on which they wanted to focus for further study, and after our initial read they were flipping through pages and asking questions and being genuinely curious and the whole thing was great.

We still have so much to learn about inductive, but the applications are truly endless and I find that students engage in new ways each time.  I'm glad we have such an authentic model for allowing students to pursue their own genuine ways to engage with and learn from text.

And my students are all about Mandela.  The new lesson brings a lot of things home...

Re: Mandela

I need to use this method next year.  The data set is rich with information but I think my students suffered from text overload the way I taught it..... Thanks!
